As part of Synovation’s multidisciplinary approach and our programs, our health professionals will recommend personalized lifestyle modifications as part of treatment, and if necessary refer patients to external providers that will help balance our patients’ total health. This helps to increase the number of treatments patients have available by providing recommendations that our patients can access outside of our office, or can do safely in the comfort of their own home.

Many times, pain interferes with daily self-care, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting. It may increase stress, alter sleep habits, and can lead to poor nutritional choices. Group discussions and program sessions educate participants about the importance of proper nutrition daily, stress reduction techniques, and daily exercise and how to make these difficult choices or smarter habits seem easier. In certain cases, providers may suggest meeting with a nutritionist or sleep consultant outside of the program.

External recommendations may also support a healthier lifestyle that can aid in getting control over your pain. In combination with medically-based techniques, therapies and practices including Tai Chi, yoga, Pilates, craniosacral therapy, and hypnosis, can contribute to a healthier mindset that puts our patients back in control of their lives.
